Warm apple crisp with oat topping and a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Any apple works, but mixing two kinds gives the best flavor.

How to make it

  1. Heat the oven. Set it to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with a little butter.
  2. Fill it. Toss the apple slices with the sugar and cinnamon right in the dish and spread them out.
  3. Make the crumble. In a bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, and flour, then stir in the melted butter until it looks like wet sand.
  4. Top and bake. Sprinkle the crumble all over the apples. Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly around the edges.
  5. Serve warm. Scoop it into bowls while it's warm — add ice cream if you're feeling it.
