Baste the salmon with the glaze twice — once before it goes in the oven, once halfway through.
How to make it
- Heat the oven to 400°F.. If using a baking sheet, line it with foil for easy cleanup.
- Mix the glaze.. In a small bowl, stir together the honey, garlic, soy sauce and lemon juice until smooth.
- Sear the salmon.. Pat the fillets dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Lay the salmon in skin-side up and cook 3 minutes without moving it, until golden.
- Glaze and flip.. Brush the tops generously with the honey garlic glaze, then flip the fillets skin-side down. Brush the tops again with more glaze.
- Bake 8–10 minutes.. Slide the whole skillet into the oven. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and the center is just barely pink — about 8–10 minutes.
- Rest and serve.. Let it sit 2 minutes. Spoon any glaze left in the pan over the top and sprinkle with green onions if you like.
How to serve it
Over white rice with the extra glaze spooned on top. Steamed broccoli or asparagus on the side.
Save the leftovers
Refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a 300°F oven — the microwave can make fish rubbery.
