Hot jalapeño popper dip in a baking dish with melted cheese, surrounded by tortilla chips

Wear gloves or wash your hands right after cutting jalapeños — don't touch your eyes.

How to make it

  1. Heat the oven. Set it to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix the base. Stir the cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl until smooth, then mix in 1 cup of the cheddar, the jalapeños, and half the bacon.
  3. Fill the dish. Spread the mixture in a square baking dish and top with the rest of the cheddar and bacon.
  4. Bake. Bake 20 minutes until hot and bubbly with golden spots on top.
  5. Serve. Let it cool 5 minutes so nobody burns their mouth, then serve with tortilla chips.
