Peanut butter spider cookies with chocolate bodies and pretzel legs

Push the chocolate in while the cookies are hot — that's what holds the spiders together.

How to make it

  1. Heat the oven. Set it to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Make the dough. Beat the butter, peanut butter, and both sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Bake. Roll into 1-inch balls, place 2 inches apart, and bake 10–12 minutes until the edges are set.
  4. Build the spiders. Right out of the oven, press a chocolate truffle into the center of each cookie and stick 8 pretzel halves around it for legs. Add candy eyes if you want.
  5. Cool. Let them cool on the pan 10 minutes so the spiders stay put.
