Use four toothpicks in each sandwich before cutting so every stacked quarter stays together.
How to make them
- Cook the bacon. Put it in a skillet over medium heat and cook for 8–10 minutes, until crispy. Move it to paper towels to drain.
- Toast the bread. Toast all 12 slices until golden.
- Mix the spread. Stir the mayo and mustard together, then spread it on one side of every slice of toast.
- Build each sandwich. Start with one slice of toast, 2 slices of ham and a slice of cheese. Add a second slice of toast, then 2 slices of turkey, 2 strips of bacon, lettuce and tomato. Finish with the third slice of toast.
- Hold it together and cut it. Push 4 toothpicks through each sandwich, one in each quarter. Cut diagonally into 4 triangles.
Best served fresh
Eat these right after you build them. The toast goes soft if the sandwiches sit too long.
Prep ahead
Cook the bacon and slice everything ahead, then assemble when you're ready. Cooked bacon keeps in the fridge for 4–5 days.
